Job Description
An Insight Global client in the Midwest grocery and retail space is looking for a Product Engineer to support the development of a net‑new, brand‑agnostic digital platform. This engineer will play a key role in building and scaling consumer‑facing web and mobile applications from the ground up.
This is a greenfield opportunity where the Product Engineer will architect and implement features across React (web) and React Native (mobile), focusing on speed to market and reusability across multiple brands. The ideal candidate is product‑minded, comfortable working in fast‑paced environments, and experienced with modern development practices, including AI‑assisted coding tools.
Responsibilities
- Build and deliver new features across web and mobile platforms
- Implement features end‑to‑end across React and React - Native before moving to new functionality
- Architect scalable, brand‑agnostic solutions that can be reused across multiple applications
- Design and own APIs and backend services within a microservices architecture
- Collaborate closely with product leadership on feature implementation (designs provided)
- Leverage AI‑assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code or similar) to accelerate development
- Review, optimize, and productionize AI‑generated code
- Support application builds, releases, and integrations
- Integrate with existing systems, including POS platforms when needed

Required Skills & Experience
Strong experience with React (web) and React Native (mobile)
Experience with Node.js and Express in a microservices environment
Experience with MongoDB
Experience building consumer‑facing applications
Comfortable working in greenfield / zero‑to‑one product environments
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience in retail, grocery, or direct‑to‑consumer environments
Exposure to ASP.NET (POS systems are built in this framework)
Experience with Google Cloud Platform or other major cloud providers
Experience with Firebase
Familiarity with AI‑assisted development workflows
