Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Construction Estimator to join one of their federal contracting clients. The ideal candidate should be able to work out of their Colorado Springs, CO office or can sit remotely. The Estimator will support government and private-sector proposals and will be responsible for developing accurate, compliant cost volume proposals by analyzing solicitation requirements, building detailed cost models, and coordinating pricing across materials, equipment, and subcontracted work. The ideal candidate has strong experience reviewing formal RFPs/IFBs, developing and managing large work breakdown structures, and creating complex cost spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel. This role requires the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with design, construction, and management teams throughout the conceptual, design-build, and design-bid-build phases.
Day to day responsibilities
•Review Government RFPs/IFBs to develop compliant, timely cost proposals.
•Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and WBS based allocations from drawings and conceptual scopes.
•Build and maintain advanced Excel cost models and estimating tools.
•Support proposal strategy, pricing reviews, and management presentations.
•Solicit, evaluate, and validate subcontractor and material pricing.
•Prepare scopes of work, assumptions, RFQs, and manage pre bid RFIs.
•Develop construction schedules using MS Project and Primavera P6.

Required Skills & Experience
•3+ years of federal contracting estimating experience - federal construction
•Familiar with RS Means pricing databases and applicable city cost indexes
