Job Overview:
Insight Global is looking for a full-time Field Service Engineer for a client. This is a customer service focused engineering position that links the Company's Engineering Department to a variety of internal and external customers. This individual can sit remotely, but face-to-face meetings and field inspections of rail cars/components may also be required. In this role, you will work closely with customers to troubleshoot issues, providing technical guidance in the help desk/incident management software with the goal of safely repairing and quickly returning company equipment to revenue service. Interactions are primarily via email and phone.
Key Responsibilities:
• Receive and resolve Engineering Help Desk emails and phone calls
• Thoroughly document work activities within the help desk software for future reference and trend analysis
• Research requests and communicate appropriate guidance to the customer
• Discuss detailed technical information via email, on the telephone, and face-to-face

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET-accredited university.
• 1-2 years of related work experience
• Strong Communication: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers, and the general public
• Proficiency with computer software such as Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Desired Qualifications:
• AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience
