Job Description
A top oil & gas company in Houston, TX, is seeking a Midstream Project Scheduler to join their team. This individual will support fast paced product replacement and well connection initiatives, coordinating schedules across a large volume of concurrent projects (~185 projects). This role is commercially driven and focused on accelerating project execution so wells can be connected and producing as early as possible. The environment is dynamic, with multiple stakeholders, tight timelines, and frequent changes requiring rapid decision making and prioritization. This is a unique position that supports 100+ midstream projects, with each project having around 8 milestones. The projects are usually short term and must meet contractual and regulatory deadlines. The team averages 600+ projects annually. We understand that the high volume of concurrent projects is not typical in the Planner/Scheduler community. Due to the nature of the projects being short term only having an average of 8 milestones that equates to 800 - 1600 milestones annually. Typically, Planners/Schedulers communicate with Project Managers, Project Controls, and the 3rd party Contractors/Vendors executing the work. This position is unique with extensive communication with the Commercial Sales, Business Managers, Procurement, Project Managers, Project Controls, Contractors/Vendors.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and continuously update detailed project schedules for product replacement and well connection activities
- Coordinate scheduling activities across multiple workstreams, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Manage schedules for a high volume of concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with commercial commitments and execution priorities
- Identify schedule risks, conflicts, and dependencies; propose mitigation strategies to maintain target start dates
- Track progress against milestones and communicate schedule impacts clearly and proactively
- Support rapid replanning as project scopes, priorities, or field conditions change
- Ensure schedules support early production targets and overall commercial objectives
Types of Scheduler Projects this person will support:
- Well connection and tie-in projects
- Pipeline upgrades
- Inspection projects
- Valve maintenance or replacement
- Corrosion mitigation programs
- Metering and instrumentation calibrations
- Turbine/engine maintenance
- Pump replacements or rebuilds
- Tank Farm outages
- Batch scheduling and sequencing for multi-product pipelines (think of a line switching from Diet Coke to Lemonade)
- Downtime planning
- Nomination cycle scheduling – monthly/weekly shipper schedules
- Preventive and predictive maintenance
- Leak Detection system testing
- Emergency shutdown system validation

Required Skills & Experience
Highschool OR Associate’s Degree
10+ years of scheduling experience
Experience in project scheduling within midstream oil & gas, energy, industrial, OR infrastructure environments --> Working closely with project teams to align execution timelines with commercial agreements, ensuring projects move efficiently from planning through startup.
Demonstrated ability to manage schedules for multiple concurrent projects
Strong understanding of project sequencing, dependencies, and critical path concepts
High Proficiency using scheduling software (Primavera P6 and MS Project)
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey schedule impacts clearly --> Able to explain tasks and progress in simple terms while also being able to present to a Project Manager in a technical way
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree
15+ years scheduling experience
Experience supporting product replacement, well connection, or similar field based projects
Prior experience working in a commercially driven project environment
Experience supporting large portfolios (100+ projects) simultaneously
