Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a qualified Data Engineer in support of one of our federal clients in Omaha, NE. The day‑to‑day will include:
Build and maintain dashboards and visualizations in Kibana, supporting the final stages of the data pipeline to deliver actionable ISR insights.
Support and optimize the end‑to‑end data stream, with a focus on downstream data consumption, analytics, and intelligence dissemination.
Make updates and adjustments to upstream data flows, improving data quality, performance, and reliability across ingestion and processing pipelines.
Design, build, and maintain data platforms and ETL pipelines, writing custom code, interfacing with data stores, and supporting data ingestion and modeling.
Perform analytical exploration and examination of data, helping guide architecture and engineering decisions for mission‑critical Air Force ISR projects.
Compensation: $62/hr. to $67/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of experience with data engineering and data wrangling
3+ years of experience in building highly scalable ETL or DataOps pipelines, including cloud native or open-source data technologies
Experience with programming language(s), can include Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or similar programming language(s)
Experience with UNIX and Linux, including basic commands and Shell scripting
Experience with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana
Current holder or ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance, with current or recent CI polygraph and NSANet access
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience working in Agile, DevSecOps teams and environments, including Atlassian tools
Experience in implementing batch and real-time big data integration frameworks and applications, in private or public cloud, including AWS or Azure, using various technologies, including Hadoop, Spark, Impala, debugging, identifying performance bottlenecks, and finetuning those frameworks
Knowledge of relational and dimensional modeling techniques
Master's degree in a relevant STEM field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems)
