Job Description

ISeeking an Equipment Service Worker who will be performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on automobiles, trucks, buses, and heavy equipment. This is a stationary shop environment role in Huntsville with working hours between 6:30am-3pm Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections on automobiles, light and heavy trucks, buses, fire apparatus, construction equipment, and small engines.
• Inspect and service fluids, filters, batteries, belts, hoses, brakes, steering, drivetrains, transmissions, differentials, cooling systems, and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct thorough interior, exterior, under hood, and under vehicle inspections to identify wear, damage, leaks, or safety concerns.
• Inspect, repair, and replace tires (up to 19.5 wheels), including tread depth, inflation, rims, lug nuts, studs, and valve components.
• Perform minor mechanical repairs and parts installation independently.
• Install, repair, and monitor Ariel Vehicle Locator (AVL) systems, enter vehicle data, monitor activity, and generate reports.
• Inspect and service fire apparatus and specialized equipment, including ladders, pumps, hydraulic equipment, and related systems.
• Use hand tools, lifts, air/electric tools, lubricating systems, and computerized diagnostic equipment to perform maintenance and diagnostics, including clearing fault codes.
• Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately and timely.
• Communicate with equipment operators regarding service needs and work performed.
• Perform field service work as required.
• Maintain regular attendance and work effectively as part of a team oriented shop environment.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1+ year experience servicing vehicles and/or equipment
• Automotive or truck background strongly preferred
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License; must obtain CDL Passenger Endorsement if converting to permanent position.
