Job Description
Insight Global is seeking to hire a Senior Backend Developer to join one of our clients in the chemical distribution industry. This role will be responsible for leading the execution of strategic business initiatives and information technology projects to ensure timely and effective delivery. This role monitors task assignments, ensuring all project components align with defined scope, schedules, and quality expectations. This individual provides technical guidance in planning, solution architecture, and development, while maintaining effective client engagement. They are tasked with identifying innovative methods to enhance customer satisfaction and offering actionable recommendations. Responsibilities include:
- Own backend development and support for a custom ERP system with complex external logic and integrations
- Troubleshoot and resolve logic-heavy bugs that often fall outside of active project work
- Design, build, and maintain REST APIs
- Support deployments and integrations with an EDI provider
- Ask questions, challenge assumptions, and proactively identify gaps or risks
- Operate as a solo contributor with full ownership of backend responsibilities

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of senior-level backend development experience
- C#, .Net, SQL
- Experience building and supporting REST APIs
Strong problem solving skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with Docker or Kubernetes
- ERP backend experience, especially SAP HANA or SAP Business Once (B1)
- Any front end experience
Industry experience in chemicals, consumables, aerospace or manufacturing.
