Job Description

he Silicon Validation Technician supports silicon characterization and validation by operating test equipment, collecting data, and maintaining lab hardware. This is a hands‑on, lab‑based role requiring strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently during off‑shift and rotating hours.

Operate ATE systems (e.g., Teradyne J750) and evaluation boards to support silicon data collection.
Build, assemble, modify, and inventory board kits for validation and characterization.
Perform hardware rework and soldering (including fine‑pitch components) on boards, sockets, and fixtures.
Assist engineers with data analysis and preparation of characterization reports.
Support lab operations, including shipping/receiving of silicon samples and test hardware.
Conduct the majority of data collection during second and third shifts.
Maintain lab equipment and documentation while adhering to ESD and lab safety standards.

Required Skills & Experience

College diploma or equivalent technical credential with 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
Strong debugging, soldering, and board‑level troubleshooting skills.
Experience reading schematics and working with PCB design concepts.
Hands‑on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, DMMs).
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, especially off‑shift.
Strong organizational skills for tracking hardware, samples, and materials.

Comfortable working in a test lab / ESD‑controlled environment.
