This role will be a part of a small system admin team working on Windows and Azure work.

The Cloud Engineer Level 1 (Windows & Azure) is an entry-level role responsible for supporting daily system operations across corporate, retail, and cloud environments. This position focuses on resolving routine Windows and Microsoft 365 related incidents, assisting with basic deployments, and helping maintain reliable availability, performance, and security of end-user and server systems. The role works within established standards, escalation paths, and change control processes while developing technical skills in Windows administration, identity management, and Azure fundamentals through mentorship and hands-on experience with senior engineers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide Tier 1 support for Windows-related incidents and service requests, escalating when needed.
• Perform basic troubleshooting for Windows endpoints and server-related issues (login failures, performance issues, access issues, printing, patching errors).
• Assist with user onboarding/offboarding tasks including account provisioning, group memberships, and license assignments under documented procedures.
• Support Microsoft 365 administration tasks such as Exchange mailbox troubleshooting, Teams issues, and basic SharePoint/OneDrive support (as assigned).
• Assist with basic Azure administration tasks including VM health checks, monitoring alerts, and support of cloud-hosted services under supervision.
• Support endpoint lifecycle tasks including device imaging/Autopilot enrollment, application deployments, and policy validation (as assigned).
• Assist with patching activities for Windows endpoints and servers in coordination with maintenance windows.
• Maintain accurate documentation including runbooks, SOP updates, troubleshooting notes, and asset inventory records.
• Follow SOPs and provide clear ticket updates including troubleshooting steps, resolution outcomes, and next steps.
• Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and deployments as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
• Basic understanding of Windows OS administration and troubleshooting concepts.
• Foundational knowledge of Active Directory concepts (users, groups, OU structure, basic permissions).
• Familiarity with basic Azure and Microsoft 365 concepts (identity, licensing, cloud services).
• Ability to follow structured troubleshooting methods and document work clearly.
• Familiarity with IT ticketing systems and documentation best practices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work professionally with internal teams and vendors.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with competing priorities.
• Ability to travel to retail locations as needed (optional/occasional based on business needs).
• Ability to participate in after-hours/on-call support as scheduled.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
• 1–2 years of experience in an IT support, helpdesk, desktop support, or junior systems role.
• Internship, lab work, or hands-on home lab experience accepted in place of formal work experience.
• Exposure to Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and Azure is a plus.
• Certifications preferred: Microsoft Fundamentals (AZ-900, MS-900) or CompTIA A+ / Network+.
