The Mission
Salesforce is the world leader in enterprise AI, and the key to our success is reliability. We are looking for a Founding Engineer to lead the development of Slack-Verse: our proprietary, high-fidelity evaluation environment.
Slack-Verse is not just a sandbox; it is a massive, high-density digital twin of the modern enterprise. You will be the primary architect responsible for building the complex, data-rich ecosystems where Salesforce’s most advanced AI agents are trained, tested, and validated before they reach millions of users.
The Role
As a Founding Engineer on this team, you will bridge the gap between AI research and hardcore systems engineering. You will own the technical infrastructure that allows AI agents to navigate thousands of channels, interact with a vast surface area of integrated tools, and process enterprise-scale data variability.
This is a high-autonomy, builder-first role. You will be responsible for transforming high-level agentic "missions" into robust, scalable, and reproducible simulation environments.
Key Responsibilities
Architecting Enterprise Complexity: Scale the Slack-Verse infrastructure to support massive channel coverage and interaction density, mirroring the communication flows of Fortune 500 companies.
Tool Surface Engineering: Design and implement a broad "surface area" of API integrations (Jira, GitHub, internal Salesforce CRMs, etc.) that AI agents must navigate to solve complex, multi-step tasks.
High-Fidelity Data Synthesis: Develop sophisticated data layers characterized by high volume and high variability, ensuring that the "noise" in the environment provides a realistic stress test for LLM-based agents.
Scenario Orchestration: Build the logic and configurations for diverse evaluation scenarios, defining the ground truth for how agents are benchmarked and measured.
Technical Stewardship: Maintain the technical integrity of the Slack-Verse stack, ensuring world-class infrastructure, clear environment specifications, and rigorous validation.

Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves
Slack Platform Mastery: Deep, production-level experience with the Slack Web API, Events API, and Block Kit. You understand the nuances of rate limits and enterprise-grade workspace permissions.
Backend Systems Design: Expert-level proficiency in Python or Go. You can build scalable, containerized microservices (Docker/K8s) that maintain state across complex simulation runs.
API Architect: Proven ability to design and consume complex third-party APIs to create a connected ecosystem for AI interaction.
Synthetic Data Engineering: Experience programmatically generating large-scale, logically consistent datasets (JSON/SQL) that simulate authentic human business workflows.
The "Founding" Mindset: You thrive in the 0-to-1 phase. You prefer building the roadmap to following one and can ship production-grade code without extensive oversight.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses
LLM Evaluation (Evals) Expertise: Familiarity with evaluation frameworks like Inspect, Braintrust, or LangSmith.
Salesforce Ecosystem Knowledge: Experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), or the Salesforce Metadata API.
Generative AI Proficiency: Experience using LLMs to generate high-fidelity synthetic text or to automate the creation of edge-case evaluation scenarios.
Security & Compliance: Experience building for SOC2 or internal Salesforce Trust standards.
