Job Description
The Manager of Research Security is tasked with developing and implementing security protocols to protect sensitive research data and facilities from potential threats. This position requires a comprehensive
understanding of security measures and compliance standards to ensure the safety of personnel and the integrity of research activities. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations
-Develop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures to protect sensitive research data and facilities from unauthorized access and threats.
-Conduct regular security assessments and audits to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security measures and identify areas for improvement.
-Monitor security incidents and breaches, conduct thorough investigations and coordinating response efforts to mitigate risks.
-Provide training and awareness programs for employees on security best practices and the importance of safeguarding research information.
-Develop and maintain relationships with law enforcement and security agencies to enhance the organization's security posture and response capabilities.
-Prepare and present reports on security incidents, risks, and compliance to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
-Evaluate and recommend security technologies and solutions to improve the organization's overall security infrastructure
-Stay current with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to research security to ensure compliance and best practices.
-Collaborate with Information Technology and research teams to integrate security protocols into research processes and technologies
