Job Description
A higher education client is seeking an enthusiastic and creative mid-level UI Designer to join their growing team. This person will play a key role in designing user interfaces for their web applications. They will work closely with their product managers, engineers, and UX designers to create visually appealing user-friendly interfaces that meet the needs of their users. This team is rooted in user experience and part of their responsibilities will be creating data sources and adding better user features while focusing on accessibility. Other responsibilities include:
• Utilize HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Sightly/HTL, JSP, Java and AEM’s templating architecture to extend and override foundation and core components and to build new front-end components and templates.
• Write & maintain custom servlets, services, and other server-side components to handle dynamic content generation and processing.
• Leverage AEM clientlibs structure to optimize delivery of compiled styles, scripts and 3rd party frameworks and libraries.
• Develop within AEM dialog (Coral and Granite UI), parsys, and inheritance systems to deliver optimal results.
• Migrate static templates to modern editable templates.
• Convert legacy components to core-compatible components.
• Implement AEM responsive layout grid system and style system to continue modernization.
• Utilize Apache Sling, Java Use API to build out back-end framework for successful component development.
• Utilize OSGi, Maven, and CRXDE to manage and deploy packages and bundles.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, design, or a related field
• 1-3 years of experience in UI design
• 1-3 years of experience building end points and utilizing APIs with java
o Good understanding of HTTP and response cycle and using sling models
• 2-4 years of experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
o AEM Cloud
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and javascript
• Experience with Accessibility Best Practices
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Jquerey and flex box experience
• Previous experience in higher education
