Job Description

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Identity & Device Management is responsible for the design, security, reliability, and modernization of the Microsoft identity and device management platforms. Serving as a subject matter expert for Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and Entra ID, this role supports a large‑scale, hybrid environment managing thousands of Windows, macOS, and mobile devices across academic, research, and administrative units.
This position will lead and contribute to enterprise‑wide solutions that are secure, scalable, and resilient. Responsibilities include designing and administering Entra ID (including Entra Connect, PIM, and Access Reviews), managing device lifecycle and configuration through Intune and Autopilot, and automating operational processes using PowerShell and Graph‑based tooling. The role collaborates closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to troubleshoot complex issues, ensure compliance with security best practices, improve service reliability, and provide technical leadership, documentation, and on‑call support.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 4+ years as a Systems or Infrastructure Engineer
• Expert experience with Windows Client OS and Microsoft ecosystem (Entra ID, Intune, PowerShell, Azure)
• Hybrid identity and device management experience
• Core infrastructure knowledge (DNS, VPNs, LDAP, Kerberos, certificates, virtualization)
• OS/app patching and security operations experience
• Strong communication, documentation, and cross‑team collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and influence without authority

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• ITIL / ITSM experience
• Higher education or research environment experience
• Automation & IaC (PowerShell, Python, Terraform, ARM, Bicep)
• Additional device tools (SCCM, Group Policy, Jamf)
• Advanced Microsoft identity and authentication technologies
• Update management (WUfB, WSUS, Autopatch)
Azure DevOps, security tooling (Defender, CrowdStrike), AI / Copilot exposure
