Job Description

A client of Insight Global's is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to support its cloud platform program, a secure, mission-critical data and analytics platform operating within AWS GovCloud environments. This role is operations-focused, with strong DevOps fundamentals, and is responsible for ensuring platform stability, performance, availability, and operational excellence.
This position is not a pure development role. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience supporting enterprise AWS environments, admin-level Tableau platform expertise, and the ability to own day-to-day cloud operations in a secure, regulated setting. Success in this role requires strong troubleshooting skills, performance awareness, and an operations-first mindset.

What You’ll Do
• Operate, monitor, and support AWS GovCloud environments supporting the data platform
• Analyze system, application, and platform performance using AWS CloudWatch, dashboards, logs, and alerts
• Administer and support Tableau Server / Tableau Platform, including user access, performance monitoring, upgrades, and issue resolution
• Provide operational support for containerized workloads and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes / EKS)
• Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation while maintaining an operations-focused approach
• Perform incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation for production issues
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform and/or Ansible) to support and maintain cloud environments
• Collaborate with security teams to support patching, scanning, compliance, and ATO-related activities
• Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
• Provide Tier 3 / Tier 4 operational support for mission-critical systems as required

Required Skills & Experience

• Active DoD Secret clearance (Top Secret / SCI strongly preferred)
• Security+ certification or willingness to obtain immediately
• 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise AWS cloud operations, preferably within AWS GovCloud
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, RDS, and CloudWatch
• Proven experience monitoring and analyzing cloud and application performance metrics
• Admin-level experience supporting Tableau Server / Tableau Platform in production environments
• Operations-focused DevOps experience supporting production systems
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar)
• Experience supporting Kubernetes and containerized environments
• Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform and/or Ansible
• Strong Linux fundamentals and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively in secure, regulated environments

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience supporting analytics or dashboard platforms beyond Tableau (e.g., R Shiny, Power BI)
• Familiarity with AWS cost monitoring and optimization
• Experience supporting ATO processes or compliance documentation
• Prior experience supporting DoD or Air Force mission environments
• Exposure to SIPR/NIPR or air-gapped systems
• Scripting experience with Python or Bash for operational automation
