Job Description
The Escrow Verification Specialist supports the Centralized Escrow Accounting organization within the Enterprise Payment Verification Services team. This role is responsible for performing in-depth verification of Tier 2 escrow wire packages escalated by Escrow Review Specialists due to complexity, elevated risk, or the need for additional validation.
The Escrow Verification Specialist applies advanced escrow knowledge and judgment to validate wire instructions, supporting documentation, and transaction details to ensure wires are accurate, compliant, and appropriate for release or further escalation.
Primary Responsibilities include:
• Conduct detailed verification of Tier 2 wire packages escalated by Escrow Review Specialists.
• Validate wire instructions, payee information, escrow documentation, and supporting materials for accuracy and legitimacy.
• Perform additional due diligence to resolve discrepancies, missing information, or risk concerns identified during initial review.
• Determine appropriate outcomes for Tier 2 packages, including:
• Clearing packages for wire release
• Requesting corrections or additional documentation
• Escalating packages to Tier 3 for managerial review when risk or uncertainty remains
• Document verification activities, findings, and decisions accurately in designated systems.
• Collaborate with Escrow Review Specialists, management, and escrow partners to resolve issues within service-level expectations.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and enterprise payment verification standards.
Identify trends or recurring issues to support continuous improvement of review and verification processes.

Required Skills & Experience
• Significant experience in escrow operations, funding, or closing.
• Experience as a Senior Escrow Assistant, Funder, Closer, or equivalent role preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of escrow transactions, wire processing, and escrow documentation.
• Experience reviewing, preparing, or approving escrow wire packages.
• Ability to assess risk, exercise sound judgment, and make informed verification decisions.
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
