Job Description
As the Program Manager for Waves as a Service (WAAS), you will be a strategic driver in transforming how this large telecommunications and fiber company delivers high-bandwidth services. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Network Engineering – WAAS, you will bridge the gap between high-level engineering strategy and operational execution. This is not a traditional "task-tracking" role; it is a leadership position focused on orchestrating the roadmap for network automation, API integration, and next-generation optical service delivery.
The ideal candidate will act as a force multiplier for the WAAS organization, ensuring that our innovation and automation goals are translated into actionable programs. You will navigate a complex landscape of developers, architects, and product leaders to remove strategic roadblocks and ensure the company provides world class customer experience in the DWDM service delivery.
Location: Remote, US
Schedule: 40 hours/week; 9am-5pm EST, CST, or MST
Rate: $51/hour
Duration: 12 month contraction, extensions and FTE conversion possible

Required Skills & Experience
- 3-5+ years of professional business operations and/or program/project management
- Experience managing/reporting capital and operating budget results an asset
- Familiar with Agile/Lean methodology, including tools associated with Agile Development
- Demonstrated ability to extract insights with the ability to tie changes to risks, issues, and impact
- Solid understanding of telecommunications technologies, network architecture, and services
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to interface cross-functionally, as well as with various levels of management
- Expert presentation skills with a keen ability to visualize and convey concepts effectively
- Ability to manage and own projects in a cross-functional environment
- Results driven with an ability to make timely, creative, and sound decisions under pressure
- Detail oriented, fast learner, with the ability to adapt in an evolving environment.
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing requests in a professional manner
