Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a high‑impact initiative focused on launching a differentiated direct‑to‑consumer (DTC) news membership product. This role is responsible for driving the successful delivery of a complex, multi‑workstream program that meets consumer needs and supports acquisition and growth.
The Senior Project Manager owns end‑to‑end delivery in an Agile, matrixed environment, partnering with internal teams, external agencies, and fellow project managers. This role is accountable for operational excellence, transparency, and predictable execution from early discovery through launch.
Key Responsibilities

Own end‑to‑end planning, execution, and delivery of a complex, cross‑functional program from early discovery through launch
Build and manage integrated timelines, milestones, dependencies, and delivery targets across multiple workstreams
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Design to deliver features and capabilities aligned with business objectives
Lead collaboration with an external design agency during discovery and design phases, ensuring alignment to scope, timelines, and outcomes
Coordinate delivery across Product & Technology, Customer Care, UX, Marketing, Editorial, Legal, and DTC teams to ensure launch readiness
Facilitate cross‑team communication to resolve impediments, mitigate risks, and drive alignment when conflicts arise
Drive stakeholder alignment through clear, proactive communications, including regular program updates and executive readouts
Support Agile teams using JIRA for sprint and backlog management, ensuring accountability for committed work and delivery outcomes
Partner with other project managers to ensure initiatives are accurately tracked in Smartsheet and reflected in clear, actionable dashboards
Own program documentation and repositories, ensuring artifacts are current, accessible, and maintained in Confluence
Identify, track, and manage program‑level risks, dependencies, and key decisions to ensure predictable execution
Monitor vendor and agency delivery to ensure alignment with program milestones and quality standards
Facilitate Agile ceremonies as needed and coach teams on Agile best practices and continuous improvement
Ensure program‑level reporting, dashboards, and metrics are accurate, actionable, and transparent for leadership
Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and ways of working to optimize efficiency and delivery outcomes

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of experience managing and delivering large‑scale technology or digital initiatives
5+ years of experience working in Agile environments, including Scrum and cross‑functional team leadership
Proven ability to establish and scale project management processes in fast‑moving, dynamic organizations
Strong hands‑on experience with JIRA, Smartsheet, and Confluence for program tracking, reporting, and documentation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences and leadership levels
Demonstrated success operating and influencing in a matrixed organization
Experience in digital media, publishing, or direct‑to‑consumer subscription products
Technical background or strong technical fluency, with the ability to partner effectively with engineering teams
