Job Description

Role Overview
The Mechanical Assembly Supervisor leads and coordinates mechanical assembly activities for High Voltage GIS equipment. This role supervises mechanics and installers, interprets technical drawings, and ensures precise installation in accordance with clients installation, quality, and safety standards. The supervisor plays a key role in managing union labor resources, maintaining schedules, and promoting a safe, clean, and efficient installation environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate mechanics and installers assembling High Voltage GIS equipment
• Lead mechanical installation activities with a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and safety
• Interpret and analyze technical drawings to guide installation processes and procedures
• Manage union contractor resources, including work assignment, motivation, and performance oversight
• Ensure installation activities follow established processes, timelines, and schedules
• Exercise sound judgment in installation decisions, considering cost, quality, and operational impact
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with safety guidelines
• Promote teamwork, clear communication, and adherence to work instructions

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years of hands-on mechanical or industrial assembly experience
• Experience reading and interpreting technical or mechanical drawings
• Strong mechanical knowledge of machines, tools, and installation practices
• Prior experience leading or supervising mechanical work teams (formal supervision preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to integrate into existing operations
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and adapt
• Strong communication and ability to act professional to both clients and employees

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, engineering technology, or a related field
• Experience supervising union labor
• Prior experience assembling High Voltage or large industrial equipment
○ Specifically HV GIS (gas insulated switchgear) equipment
