Job Description
We’re looking for a seasoned Senior Business Banking Project Manager to join our Commercial Banking Payments team and lead a high‑visibility Payments API modernization initiative. This role sits at the intersection of business banking, digital payments, and technology delivery—ideal for someone who thrives in complex, cross‑functional environments and understands how modern API‑driven payment capabilities transform client experiences.
You’ll drive end‑to‑end project execution, partner with product and engineering teams, and ensure the successful delivery of API capabilities that support business clients’ payment workflows, integration needs, and treasury operations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
Lead the full project lifecycle for a multi‑phase Payments API program, from discovery through deployment and post‑launch optimization.
Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk frameworks.
Coordinate cross‑functional teams including Product, Engineering, Architecture, Compliance, Operations, and Business Banking stakeholders.
Ensure delivery aligns with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and enterprise technology standards.
Business Banking & Payments Expertise
Translate business banking needs into clear technical and functional requirements for API development.
Partner with Payments Product teams to define API use cases, client journeys, and integration patterns.
Support readiness for commercial clients, including onboarding, testing, and migration planning.
Understand payment rails (ACH, wires, real‑time payments), treasury services, and commercial client payment behaviors.
Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for senior leaders and project sponsors.
Provide clear, concise reporting on project health, risks, dependencies, and milestones.
Facilitate decision-making across business and technology groups.
Risk, Compliance & Governance
Ensure adherence to regulatory, security, and data‑governance requirements for payment APIs.
Manage project audits, documentation, and compliance checkpoints.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks, issues, and delivery constraints.
