Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Director of Inventory & Logistics to lead enterprise‑wide receiving, warehousing, inventory management, and outbound shipping operations across five manufacturing sites. This individual will set the strategy for material flow, inventory optimization, and logistics performance while ensuring materials are available to support production schedules. The Director will partner closely with operations, production, procurement, engineering, and quality to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall supply chain performance. This role requires strong leadership, disciplined business processes, and the ability to develop high‑performing teams within a large, fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Required Skills & Experience

* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent combination of education + experience)

* 10–15 years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or manufacturing operations

* Minimum 5 years in a leadership role overseeing large teams

* Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehousing operations, and production planning

* Experience managing receiving, warehousing, inventory accuracy, and shipping functions

Working knowledge of SAP and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

* Demonstrated ability to make data‑driven decisions and use KPIs to identify and resolve performance gaps

* Experience leading geographically dispersed teams in a high‑volume manufacturing environment

* Familiarity with large‑scale warehouse operations (500–1,000+ employees)

* Experience supporting multi‑site manufacturing operations

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Master’s degree or professional certifications (APICS CPIM, CSCP, Six Sigma)

* Background implementing lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives

* Experience optimizing inventory levels, planning parameters, and re‑order points

* Strong understanding of logistics cost management, warehouse footprint planning, and material flow strategy
