Job Description
An Insight Global client is seeking a CNC Programmer / Machinist to support a growing machine shop operation focused on low-rate production machining. This is a hands-on role responsible for programming, setup, and operation of CNC equipment using Mastercam, and producing high-quality parts that meet strict quality and compliance requirements.
This individual will work in a small-shop environment, taking ownership of the machining process from drawing review through first-article prove-out and production. The role will also support quoting and manufacturing planning by providing accurate estimates for programming, setup, and run times. As machining capabilities expand, this position will contribute to tooling strategy, inspection processes, and preparation for more advanced machining work, including multi-axis operations.
This is a direct-hire opportunity paying $65-75k and is expected to work on-site in Austin, TX Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00.

Required Skills & Experience
-5+ years of hands-on CNC machining and programming experience
-Advanced proficiency with Mastercam
-Experience programming and running CNC mills (3-axis or greater) and CNC lathes with live tooling
-Experience supporting low-rate production machining
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Exposure to 4-axis or 5-axis machining
-Experience in defense or regulated manufacturing environments
-Experience with AS9100 or ISO-aligned quality systems
