Sr. Mechanical Designer

Day to Day:
Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join one of our largest Navy prime contractors. As a trusted provider of naval power and control technology they deliver quality, customer-focused products and support solutions for the U.S. Navy and our allies. Their products meet stringent specifications and have been proven to perform in harsh marine environments. Under the support of the Mechanical Engineering department, you will support the production of the new submarine model, specifically the laser weapon system. We need someone who can hit the ground running with Creo and Windchill to support the existing team with the influx of submarines. You must be able to deal with power electronics and cabling in addition to the designing portion. Responsibilities include:
• CAD system design, including maturing the designers and dealing with vendor parts
• Navigating the next generation of power control for the submarines
• ADPCM design for nuclear submarines
• Designing the electronic packaging using power electronics
