Job Description

The Mechanical Design Engineer will support the design and analysis of turbine hot gas path and rotor components for heavy‑duty and aeroderivative engines. This role involves performing mechanical evaluations, collaborating with cross‑functional engineering teams, and ensuring hardware meets key design and quality requirements. Work includes optimizing components for manufacturability, cost, and performance while coordinating closely with heat transfer, manufacturing, sourcing, and design review teams. Fully remote, no travel required.

Responsibilities
• Perform mechanical design and analysis of turbine components, focusing on hot gas path and rotor hardware
• Evaluate assigned hardware using sound engineering practices and established design standards
• Participate in and present during technical design reviews
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including design owners, heat transfer, sourcing, and manufacturing
• Support component and sub‑system optimization efforts (cost, manufacturability, variation, lifecycle)
• Ensure designs meet critical product and quality requirements
• Follow documented engineering and review processes for all deliverables

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 4–8 years of engineering analysis experience
• Experience designing and analyzing turbine blades, nozzles, shrouds, and/or rotor components
• Proficiency with ANSYS
• Proficiency with CAD software (preferably NX)
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated experience working in cross‑functional engineering teams

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with turbine component optimization for cost, variation, and manufacturability
• Experience coordinating with design owners, sourcing, and manufacturing teams
• Familiarity with lifecycle‑focused component design
• Ability to clearly present technical findings and recommendations
• Strong collaboration skills across engineering and supply chain groups
