Job Description

Insight Global is hiring a heavy machine mechanic to support our client in Chesapeake, VA. This role requires experience in troubleshooting, disassembling, and reassembling diesel engines, transmissions, and components such as sockets, bolts, and gears. Previous mechanical experience with motor graders, wheeled excavators, backhoes, and locomotives is preferred. The hours for this role are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. EST. The rate is flexible and ranges between $27-$32/hr.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:
5 years of heavy equipment mechanic experience.
Experience in overhauling diesel engines and transmissions.
Knowledgeable of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot engine malfunctions and suggest best practice solutions.
Experience interpreting mechanical blueprints.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:
Previously worked at a locomotive company as a mechanic.
