Job Description
A client of Insight Global is seeking a Senior OpenShift Virtualization Engineer to design, implement, and optimize Red Hat OpenShift-based virtualization solutions in a secure, mission-critical environment. The ideal candidate holds an active Secret Clearance and brings 4–5+ years of hands-on OpenShift experience, including leading the implementation of OpenShift Virtualization (e.g., KubeVirt) to run and manage VMs alongside containers. You will build and maintain isolated sandbox environments, enabling rapid prototyping, testing, and hardened deployments while enforcing security and compliance best practices. In partnership with DevOps and application teams, you’ll architect and operate robust CI/CD pipelines—leveraging tools such as GitLab, GitHub, and Jenkins—for automated builds, testing, and releases, and you’ll apply Infrastructure as Code and GitOps patterns to drive repeatable, scalable platform operations. This role requires deep troubleshooting skills across networking, storage, and cluster services, performance tuning for workloads, and the ability to produce clear documentation and runbooks. Strong collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills are essential, as you’ll guide teams on virtualization adoption, containerization strategies, and platform reliability, all while upholding rigorous security controls aligned with federal standards.
