Job Description

The Coordinator, Business Development (BD) is an integral part of our global Business Development and Marketing (BDM) Team function. This centralized team works across our practice groups, industry groups and client account teams to provide the very best support for the BD activities and initiatives these groups undertake to realize their commercial and marketing goals. The BD Coordinator team will be highly trained in all aspects of our market-leading BD processes and systems and will be responsible for globally consistent, high-quality output to ensure rapid and successful execution of their part in our BD initiatives. Our team of Business Development Coordinators will primarily support the Global Business Development team-members across the network (as well as some regional/global support in English language with the responsibilities of the role) including, but not limited to:

-Liaise with regional Business Development Managers to scope out their requirements from the team and act as a gateway between them and the Coordinator support base
-Assisting with matter research, lawyer biographies and other content preparation needed to support pitches, proposals, capability statements and other client presentations and seminar materials
-Updating and maintaining our matters database in our global Matter Profiling System
-Assisting with creation and maintenance of our client marking lists for electronic campaigns
-Education and training of Pas/secretaries on use of our InterAction Opportunities system
-Maintaining databases of new and closed transactions to ensure deals are correctly profiled and entered into the Firm’s Matter Profile System database, and opportunities are captured in the Firm’s CRM database
-Supporting the drafting of submissions for legal directories (Legal 500, Chambers & Partners, etc.) and award entries, by research and assistance on submission preparation and gathering of client referees from our partners
-Real time submissions and regular review/reporting for our various league tables
-Producing all English language Business Development bulletins and newsletters produced in EMEA
-Support the CAM/industry Business Development team to help drive the implementation of sector and client action plans in support of the section’s business plan, and related Business Development initiatives in London and globally
-Client, market, sector and decision-maker research and analysis as required
-Opportunity spotting research and communication with relevant Business Development team members to aid with “rapid response” opportunity spotting for our target clients
-Review of relevant legal/trade media and sharing of relevant information to Business Development team-members
-Other ad hoc projects as required

Required Skills & Experience

-Bachelor's degree
-2-3+ years of business development experience within a law firm environment
-Able to manage competing/conflicting priorities effectively to achieve a way forward
-Strong analytical, organizational, communication, interpersonal, influencing, & negotiating skills
-Good systems and database skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM applications

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

-Knowledge of, or keen interest in, Marketing
-Exposure to client relationship management
-Relevant marketing (CIM) or a postgraduate qualification
