Job Description

We are seeking a part-time (15 hours/week), fully remote, Temporary I-9 Compliance Specialist to support the People & Culture team by managing the completion, auditing, and maintenance of Form I-9 documents. The Temporary I-9 Compliance Specialist will ensure that all I-9s are completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with federal regulations.

Review and process Section 1 and Section 2 of Form I-9 for new hires.
Verify documentation for employment eligibility according to federal guidelines.
Track and follow up on I-9 completion for remote or in-person employees.
Maintain confidential records securely and according to company policy.
Communicate with employees and HR Business Partners to resolve discrepancies or incomplete documentation.
Stay up-to-date on I-9 requirements and E-Verify processes (if applicable).
Conduct monthly audits of Form I-9 Receipt documents and Expiring I-9 Reverifications.

Pay: $34/hour
Location: Remote
Duration: 3-4 month contract
Hours: 3 hours/day, 5 days/week = 15 total hours/week
(There is some flexibility with the 15 hours, but ideally looking for standard business hours to meet with new hires and key stakeholders)

Required Skills & Experience

Prior experience handling Form I-9s or working in an HR compliance role, specifically remote I-9 verifications
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Familiarity with E-Verify
Excellent communication skills.
Comfortable working independently and in a fast-paced environment

Familiar with immigration i9 paperwork
