Job Description

Day to Day:

A client is looking for two Network Technicians to work in Columbus, OH. This person will be the first point of escalation in a 24x7 NOC environment. They will be responsible for creating and managing troubled tickets related to network alarms and issues; conducting network maintenance following established procedures; assessing, monitoring and confirming the impact of network outages; and escalating all issues to appropriate parties. The ideal candidate will be driven, self-starter, and have a passion for networking. All candidates will have access to a lab and the opportunity to train and get their JNCIA and JNCIP.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:

* Strong knowledge of fundamental networking concepts and protocols (i.e.: Ethernet framework, IP addresses, multi-plexing, firewalls)

* Lab experience troubleshooting Juniper/Cisco circuit failures, routers and switches via command line

* Completed or working towards a technical degree (Bachelor's in Networking preferred) MIS, CIS, Computer Science, Engineering

* Passionate about networking and looking to build a long-term career in this field

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plus:

* Juniper or Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA-Junos, JNCIS-ENT)

* Experience working in a network operation center or supporting a service provider network

* Working knowledge of scripting and automation tools such as Python and Bourne Shell

* Internship / CO Op experience
