Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to provide scientific, analytical, and decision support for key questions around enhancements to our weather data systems, networks, and APIs. The ideal candidate will apply spatiotemporal data science and engineering tools to evaluate new weather data sources and use our data lakehouse technologies to deliver new environmental and weather data products and automations. We are targeting an hourly rate of $73/hr.

Required Skills & Experience

· M.S. or Ph.D. in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a related field.
· Expert-level programming skills in Python.
· Familiarity with Git-based CI/CD workflows for data science project management and reproducible research.
· Experience working with HPC or cloud computing technologies for big data and large compute jobs (AWS preferred).
· Experience working with highly multivariate spatio-temporal data sets.
· Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with lakehouse technologies.
· Experience building visualizations of scientific data.
