Job Description
The Project Supervisor oversees day-to-day field operations for utility construction projects, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with schedule and cost expectations. This role is highly hands-on and requires strong judgment, adaptability, and the ability to respond quickly to changing site conditions while keeping crews productive and motivated.
The Supervisor serves as the on-site leader, coordinating labor, materials, documentation, and communication between field crews, project management, and customers. Success in this role depends on a proactive safety mindset, operational awareness, and the ability to balance leadership with direct participation when needed.
Key responsibilities include maintaining compliance with safety standards, managing production targets, tracking performance, and ensuring all administrative and contractual requirements are met throughout the life of the project.

Required Skills & Experience

-High school diploma or GED
-Valid driver’s license
-Current DOT medical card
-Prior experience in utility construction or related infrastructure work
-Strong understanding of job site safety requirements, including OSHA standards
-Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and work orders
-Basic computer proficiency and comfort using electronic devices in the field
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint)
-Ability to accurately complete daily reports, safety documentation, and time approvals
-Proven ability to lead crews, set daily work plans, and monitor productivity
-Strong communication skills for coordinating with project managers, crews, and customers
-Willingness and ability to perform physical labor and operate equipment as needed

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

-Experience managing contract scope, change orders, and schedule milestones
-Familiarity with Bluebeam software for reviewing plans and markups
-Experience purchasing or managing job materials within authorized limits
-Prior involvement in hiring, training, coaching, or corrective action of field employees
-Demonstrated ability to develop pull plans and construction pathways
-Experience reviewing redlines and production metrics
-Previous responsibility for approving invoices, receipts, and fuel charges
-Formal safety training or certifications beyond minimum requirements
-Interest in continued professional development through leadership or technical training
-Customer-facing experience in construction or utilities environments
