Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Production Engineer that specializes in paint to work in a full time role for one of our clients in Columbus, IN. This role supports and improves a manufacturing paint area. They will lead equipment installs, improve processes, and help reduce downtime. They’ll work closely with the production team to increase efficiency, quality, and safety, while helping implement new technology and automation. This person will also drive continuous improvement efforts and act as a technical resource for their area.

Required Skills & Experience

- Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or similar)
- 4+ years manufacturing experience
- Exposure to paint operations (liquid or powder)
- Experience with capital equipment projects (install, integration)
- Troubleshooting production/process issues
- CAD knowledge (2D/3D)
- Lean / continuous improvement familiarity
- Strong communication and ability to work on the floor

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Robotic paint systems & application methods (E-stat, HVLP, AAA)
- Paint system design / chemical pretreatment knowledge
- Automation/robotics integration experience
- TPS/lean background
- Vendor/supplier coordination experience
