A large retail company is seeking a Sr Martech Engineer to join their team! This is a hands-on, senior-level role focused on translating marketing strategy into technical execution.
You will work closely with the CMO and marketing leadership while partnering with the Enterprise Martech team to deliver high-impact solutions. The role sits at the intersection of data architecture, marketing platforms, and lifecycle/performance marketing. You will focus on pulling and transforming data from Snowflake, building advanced segments and lists, and creating integrations that enable the marketing team to execute effectively. This is a “keyboard-heavy” position — you will spend the majority of your time building, optimizing, and troubleshooting martech solutions. This is a hybrid role located in Lincolnshire, IL.
Pay rate: $80-$85

Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Martech Engineer, Marketing Technology Specialist, or similar senior role.
- Strong proficiency with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Audience Builder, Automation Studio, Query Studio, Data Extensions, Journey Builder, etc.).
- Advanced experience working with Snowflake — writing complex SQL, building data models, and moving data into marketing platforms.
- Solid understanding of data architecture principles and best practices.
- Proven expertise building large-scale customer segmentation, lists, and suppression logic.
- Experience designing and maintaining integrations between marketing platforms and enterprise data systems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills— able to work effectively with both technical teams and senior marketing leadership (including the CMO).
- Hybrid availability with regular onsite presence in Lincolnshire, IL.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications.
- Experience with Segment, mParticle, Braze, or Adobe Experience Platform.
- Background in lifecycle marketing, customer journey orchestration, or performance marketing.
- Experience in retail, automotive, or RV dealership marketing.
- Familiarity with dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, MuleSoft, or similar tools.
- Basic Python or JavaScript for automation.
