Job Description

The Cloud Disaster Recovery Architect is responsible for defining, designing, and governing enterprise-wide cloud disaster recovery (DR) and resilience strategies. This role ensures critical systems can recover from outages, cyber incidents, and regional failures within agreed RTO/RPO targets, while meeting security, compliance, and business continuity requirements.

This position operates at the intersection of cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, security, and business continuity, providing technical leadership and architectural standards across application and platform teams.

Required Skills & Experience

8+ years in infrastructure or cloud engineering roles

· 4+ years designing cloud-based disaster recovery solutions

· Deep experience with Microsoft Azure:

o Azure Site Recovery

o Azure Backup & Recovery Services Vaults

o Azure Virtual Machines & Storage

o Azure Networking (VNets, DNS, ExpressRoute/VPN)

· Strong understanding of RTO, RPO, BCP, and DR principles

· Hands-on experience with IaC and automation

Architectural & Operational Skills

· Enterprise architecture and design governanceHybrid cloud and on-prem integration

· Incident management and operational resilience

· Cost optimization for DR solutions

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Azure certifications (AZ-305, AZ-104, AZ-500)

· Experience in regulated environments (financial services, healthcare, government)

· Familiarity with SRE or reliability engineering practices

· Experience leading or influencing cross-functional technical teams
