Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Applied AI Engineer (Contract) for a top insurance services client. This candidate will help establish and scale an enterprise AI engineering capability focused on delivering real-world AI solutions quickly and securely. The ideal candidate will leverage foundation models such as Claude, Gemini, and GPT to build reusable AI skills, develop and manage enterprise plug-ins, and deploy automation solutions at scale. This position combines hands-on AI engineering with governance, security, and platform enablement, offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge agentic AI initiatives while collaborating closely with platform, automation, security, and business teams in a fast-growing AI Center of Excellence.


• Build and package reusable AI skills into Claude Enterprise plug-ins
• Publish and manage plug-ins through the Claude Enterprise catalog
• Manage plugin lifecycle including intake, development, governance, release, maintenance, and enhancements
• Configure and tune foundation models for enterprise automation use cases
• Design and optimize prompts and system instructions
• Deliver AI solutions from initial use case through production deployment
• Enable and configure MCP tools and enterprise system integrations
• Implement RBAC and least-privilege security controls
• Collaborate with Security and Cloud teams on identity and credential management
• Operate within COE governance standards including audit logging and automation registries
Partner with RPA, Power Platform, Platform Engineering, Data Teams, and business stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of software engineering and/or automation engineering experience
• 2+ years of experience building and deploying LLM-powered solutions into production
• Strong Python development skills
• Experience with REST APIs and enterprise integrations
• Solid software engineering fundamentals (testing, version control, monitoring)
• Hands-on experience with foundation models such as Claude, Gemini, and/or GPT
• Experience with prompt engineering, system design, tool/function calling, and AI skill development
• Familiarity with Claude Enterprise platform, including Skills, Projects, Plug-ins, Marketplace, and Claude Code
• Azure and/or GCP (Vertex AI) experience
• Experience working within enterprise governance, security, and compliance environments
• Understanding of RBAC, access controls, and data classification
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently

• Model Context Protocol (MCP) experience
• Agent-to-agent communication patterns
• Identity and access management concepts (RBAC, agent identity, least privilege)
• RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) experience
