Job Description

One of Insight Global's major clients are seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to join their team. Selected candidates will be responsible for leading preventative and predictive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of the combustion turbine fleet. This role oversees new design, construction, and system implementation initiatives, translating engineering standards into operationally effective solutions. The position also directs capital project planning and execution, managing scope, budget, and cross functional coordination to support long-term asset performance and utility objectives. General responsibilities include:

• Lead and prioritize preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for combustion turbine electrical systems to maximize reliability and availability.
• Manage engineering support for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions related to electrical equipment and system failures.
• Oversee electrical scope for new design, construction, and system implementation projects, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and utility specifications.
• Plan, execute, and monitor capital projects, including budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and contractor oversight.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, OEMs, and external contractors to ensure safe, efficient project and outage execution.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, work scopes, and technical change management documentation.
• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements across all electrical engineering activities.
• Develop, mentor, and manage engineering staff while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and asset management goals.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering
• 10 years’ experience related to design and upgrade of electrical power systems for power generations plants
• Experience leading teams of technical staff in either a previous supervisor/manager or above position
• Familiarity with related equipment within a utility grade power systems including switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), segmented/isophase bus work, large electric generators, excitation systems, Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVR), digital protective relays, generator circuit breakers, and generator step-up (GSU)/auxiliary transformers.
