Job Description

• • Perform assigned advanced system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control problems, including more complex and advanced controls systems, IP Controllers and Server configurations
• Respond to warranty calls and serve as a front-line technical resource for escalated issues.
How You Will Do It
• Load system-level controller software.
• Perform advanced commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (i.e., sensors, actuators, etc.), perform system startup and sequence of operation verification, and complete all required commissioning documentation.
• Keep management and the JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
• Calibrate systems requiring electronic test equipment.
• Complete administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
• Document changes and provide information for as-built documentation.
• Communicate with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
• Demonstrate the ability to accurately and efficiently start up and commission more advanced controls systems, make program modifications, update the control database, create graphics, trends and alarms
• Provide mentoring and basic leadership to entry-level and less experienced technicians as assigned.
• Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training; maintain a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.

Required Skills & Experience

•• 2-year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field — or equivalent industry experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry, with demonstrated progression within technical roles
• Demonstrated, proven experience starting up and commissioning advanced/complex controls systems, beyond routine or basic commissioning work.
• Experience with BACnet, Metasys, and IP networking for building automation systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, and peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
• Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers and outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
• Ability to explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Leadership and mentoring skills to guide entry-level technicians and support the activities of mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical Building Automation equipment.
• PC experience required, including the ability to program HVAC-related software.
• Advanced commissioning and diagnostics on more complex system architectures, versus standard commissioning at the Tech III level.
• Working knowledge of BACnet, Metasys, and IP networking protocols for systems integration.
