Job Description
A client of Insight Global is seeking a Lead Full Stack (front end focused) Engineer to join a mission‑critical medical logistics platform team that supports web, mobile, and API‑driven customer experiences. This role will play a key part in modernizing and scaling front end UI systems that support a growing customer base, with a strong emphasis on API services, web applications, and mobile platforms operating at scale in AWS.
This lead engineer will serve as a senior technical driver for the team, bringing deep experience in integration and platform modernization. They will be expected to lead by example, influence architectural direction, and apply best practices across modernization efforts—particularly within the front‑end UI domain. This individual will help guide a team that includes senior engineers, ensuring alignment on technical decisions and long-term direction.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience modernizing platforms across multiple environments and can clearly articulate more than one example of successfully evolving legacy systems into scalable, modern architectures. They understand how complex systems succeed and fail in production and can apply those lessons to build resilient, forward-looking solutions.
This role requires someone comfortable operating in ambiguity, driving work autonomously, influencing decision-making, and contributing across feature delivery, platform capabilities, and customer-facing interfaces as the platform continues to evolve.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
• Serve as a key technical driver and decision maker for front-end UI modernization efforts, influencing direction and architecture
• Lead and guide a team that includes senior engineers, ensuring best practices are followed in integration and modernization work
• Work primarily across API, Web, and Mobile teams, contributing code and high-level technical guidance
• Build and enhance enterprise Java-based services that run inside the core platform
• Help design, implement, and evolve API interfaces for both existing and new customers
• Contribute hands-on development to web and mobile systems, including standing up new features alongside frontend and API teams
• Apply system-level thinking to new feature development, helping teams avoid common pitfalls at scale
• Support platform infrastructure and runtime concerns, ensuring applications are built with production behavior in mind
• Leverage AWS services appropriately and understand when and how to use them effectively
• Collaborate closely with UX, mobile, web, and platform engineers to improve delivery outcomes
• Act as a thought partner in technical decision-making rather than solely an individual contributor
• Over time, take on more customer-facing responsibilities, supporting implementations and external integrations
Compensation:
$50/hr to $52/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
