Systems Engineer

A financial institution is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their team. The System Engineer will be responsible for managing and reporting on day-to-day tasks associated with the deployment and installation of the monitoring and asset management systems. They will review the development of policy and procedures for maintaining the monitoring and asset management systems. This position will be responsible for coordinating and leading in the design, testing, evaluation, implementation, and support for multiple complex platforms of large size and complexity (hardware, operating systems, software, and systems tools). They will utilize tools focused on configuration management, deployment, and automation. They must understand how data flows through business system, and have the ability to understand business applications and how they interact with the system infrastructure including knowledge of storage and security. The System Engineer leads in providing consultation and direct technical support in life cycle planning, problem management, integration, and systems programming.

This role focuses on the day‑to‑day management, stability, and performance of enterprise systems and platforms. It involves leading complex capacity planning and workload modeling while administering, maintaining, and diagnosing operating systems, hardware, and network platforms. On a regular basis, the role analyzes, designs, documents, installs, tests, and troubleshoots systems to meet business and enterprise requirements, ensuring they align with established security, operational, and industry standards. The position is responsible for monitoring and tuning platforms to maintain expected availability and performance, performing root cause analysis to resolve service disruptions, and implementing lifecycle management for both hardware and software. It works closely with internal teams and external vendors to support product installations, coordinate changes, and implement complex releases and upgrades with minimal business impact. The role also researches emerging technologies, evaluates industry trends, and recommends improvements that enhance performance, reliability, and total cost of ownership, while providing technical support, on‑site and 24x7 on‑call coverage as needed, and delivering professional, high‑quality communication and customer service to stakeholders at all levels.

This role is a 6 month contract to hire. The expectation is that this person will convert fulltime pending performance. The annual salary target for this role is between $90,000-$125,000/yr. Please note that rate is determined by a variety of factors and is subject to change.

• 6+ years’ of experience in an enterprise environment as a Systems Engineer. Background in VMware/Windows administration with recent Microsoft platform experience.
• Recent 2-4 years of hands-on administration experience with Microsoft platform including the following applications: SharePoint Online, MS Dynamics, MS Exchange, Azure Cloud, and Office 365.

• Any Azure migration experience
• Commvault 11.40
