Job Description
The Scrum Master is a servant‑leader and Agile coach responsible for enabling one or more IT delivery teams to consistently deliver high‑quality outcomes. This role partners closely with Product Owners, Engineering, QA, Architecture, and Operations to ensure effective sprint execution, backlog health, dependency management, and continuous improvement. The Scrum Master plays a critical role in supporting both new delivery initiatives and ongoing KTLO (Keep the Lights On) work within the IT organization.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Facilitation & Team Enablement
· Facilitate all core Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Review, and Retrospective.
· Coach teams on Agile/Scrum principles and promote self‑organization, accountability, and continuous improvement.
· Ensure teams operate with a clear Definition of Ready and Definition of Done to support predictable delivery and quality outcomes.
Backlog & Sprint Execution Support
· Partner with Product Owners to ensure the backlog is prioritized, refined, estimated, and ready for upcoming sprints.
· Help teams balance new feature work, technical debt, and KTLO support to avoid delivery risk or burnout.
· Support sprint goal clarity and ensure work commitments align with team capacity.
Dependency, Risk & Blocker Management
· Proactively identify, track, and help resolve cross‑team dependencies and impediments, escalating when necessary.
· Coordinate with other Scrum Masters, Product Managers, and IT leaders when work spans multiple teams or value streams.
· Raise early visibility to risks affecting delivery timelines or operational stability.
Jira & Delivery Hygiene
· Maintain strong Jira discipline across assigned teams, including:
o Accurate status updates and WIP limits
o Clear acceptance criteria and story ownership
o Active tracking of blocked or stagnant work items
· Ensure boards, backlogs, and sprint artifacts remain current and reliable for reporting and planning purposes.
Production & Operational Awareness
· Facilitate visibility of production incidents or operational issues during daily standups and sprint rituals.
· Partner with IT and Operations stakeholders to ensure critical issues are prioritized and addressed appropriately.
Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
· Use Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, sprint predictability, throughput) to provide transparency and drive data‑informed improvements.
· Support retrospectives with actionable outcomes and follow‑through on improvement commitments.
· Contribute to Agile maturity improvements across the broader IT organization.
Pay Rate: $50.00-$75.00 an hour depending on skills and experience.

Required Skills & Experience
· 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master supporting IT, application, or technology delivery teams
· Strong working knowledge of Scrum and Agile frameworks
· Hands‑on experience with Jira (boards, backlogs, sprint management, reporting)
· Proven ability to support multiple teams and manage complexity in an enterprise environment
· Strong facilitation, communication, and servant‑leadership skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
· Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I, or equivalent)
· Experience supporting high‑dependency environments (multiple teams, shared platforms, KTLO + project work)
· Background in IT domains such as supply chain, integrations, infrastructure, or enterprise applications
· Comfort working with both onshore and offshore delivery teams
