Job Description

Our client is seeking a skilled and inquisitive Data Analyst / BI Developer to join our growing Data & Analytics team. In this role, you will analyze, validate, and interpret data across our Azure-based analytics platform, transforming raw data into meaningful insights through high-quality Power BI dashboards. You will work closely with business stakeholders and data engineering teams to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and actionable, enabling self-service analytics within a fast-paced e-commerce environment

Required Skills & Experience

Data Exploration & Quality
- Explore, understand, and profile datasets within the data lake and analytics platform.
- Conduct data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries for analytics and business reporting.
- Develop a strong understanding of data structures, relationships, and e-commerce domain context.
- Identify data anomalies, discrepancies, or gaps, escalating issues to engineering teams as necessary.

Reporting & Analytics
- Design, build, and maintain compelling Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Create semantic models, calculated columns, and DAX measures to support analytical needs.
- Promote self-service analytics and empower business teams to explore data independently.
- Translate stakeholder requirements into robust, scalable analytical solutions.
- Ensure all reporting meets performance, usability, and governance standards.

Data Integration & Platform Support (Secondary)
- Support onboarding of new data sources and assist in understanding data pipeline flows.
- Work with data engineering teams to improve query performance and data availability.
- Analyze data stored across Azure Synapse, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric.
- Contribute to documentation of data models, reporting logic, and analytical processes.

Required Skills;
- PowerBI: Dashboards, reports, semantic models, Row-Level Security
- SQL: Complex queries, optimization, aggregations, data analysis
- DAX: Calculated measures, KPIs, time-intelligence
- Databricks: Querying and profiling data at scale using notebooks

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Azure Synapse Analytics: Understanding of analytics workloads and SQL pools
- Microsoft Fabric: Familiarity with Fabric architecture, Lakehouses, OneLake
- Azure Data Factory: Awareness of pipelines and source integrations
