Job Description
-This position engages in site survey activities, documents findings, and assists the PMO with scheduling, installation, modification, repair, and removal activities. It also conducts equipment pre-installation testing, generates installation documentation, and conducts post-installation test procedures, as well as monitors the progress of all assigned implementation activities and provides status updates, as
required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Perform and assist with all activities related to modifying existing systems and installing new systems
in operational facilities and other assigned facilities.
-Coordinate planned program implementation activities with Systems Support Center (SSC) and
other stakeholders for the successful modification or installation of new systems into facilities.
-Conduct site surveys to support the installation and modification of electronic equipment, identifying
facility equipment space, cable pathways, power, grounding, seismic, and compliance requirements.
-Read and understand service orders, technical manuals, schematic diagrams, floor plans, and related
documentation.
-Perform site preparation, installation, and system checkout in designated facility equipment rooms
and operational spaces.
-Conduct periodic site visits for installation monitoring and coordination.
-Maintain implementation documentation such as drawings, acceptance tests, and reports.
-Collect and maintain system performance data to support identification of mission needs and operational capability shortfalls.
-Develop and maintain implementation schedules and assess impacts of changes to the program.
-Participate in daily/weekly team conference calls or meetings related to project status and evolving
priorities.
-Prepare and/or participate in program status activities by providing project updates and reporting on
actions taken.
-Participate in Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs).
-Assist with providing input to program briefings and presentations.
-Verify work order information and receipt of all necessary equipment and data.
-Document and/or log equipment/system installation and/or modification actions.
-Draft site surveys, test reports, trip reports, and contract documentation.
-Handle multiple tasks during emergency situations.

Required Skills & Experience
-The successful candidate must understand
radar principles, including functionality of airport radar surveillance systems to include transmission of
forward and return radar signals, power, voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), and radar interfaces with
other systems, such as Mode-S or ATCBI-5/6, and weather systems.
-Knowledge of short range (S-band)
radar is beneficial.
-15 years of experience in a position with similar responsibilities.
-Must have the ability to discern colors used for safety and telecommunications terminations.
-Must maintain a valid Driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a good driving record.
-Proficient in the use of a laptop computer and applications such as with MS Office products,
SharePoint portals, test equipment, and diagnostic software.
-Must possess knowledge of installation practices.
-Must have experience in standard hand tools to include power tools, Powder Actuated Tools, ladders,
as well as specialty hand tools and test equipment.
-Must be able to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs.
-Must be able to regularly climb ladders, carry, bend, stoop, reach, crawl, and work in small/closed
places to complete the assigned tasks.
