Job Description

The Project Manager will oversee and coordinate vertical capital projects for the City’s OCI team. Daily responsibilities include reviewing project proposals, determining project timeframes, funding, procedures, staffing needs, and resource allocation; reviewing status reports and modifying schedules/plans; preparing project reports; providing on-site project support; inspecting project sites for compliance with plans and codes; resolving technical issues; coordinating architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants; and working with other agencies to help move permits and project activities forward.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7–10 years of project management, construction management, design/construction coordination, or vertical capital project experience.
• Experience managing or coordinating vertical capital projects, including planning, design, construction, schedules, funding parameters, staffing/resource needs, and project reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience beyond high school.
• Ability to review project proposals, status reports, schedules, plans, and project documentation.
• Experience providing direction/administration across design and construction projects through architects, engineers, contractors, and other construction professionals.
• Ability to visit and inspect project sites to ensure compliance with building plans and codes.
• Strong communication, organization, reporting, analytical, and project management skills.
Valid driver’s license

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Project Management certification
• Construction Management degree, per intake notes.
• Active or inactive State of Florida Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, or General Contractor license.
• Experience with public safety facilities, municipal building projects, and/or city parks improvements.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office/365 Suite, including Word, Excel, Project, and related software.
• Experience with e-Builder or other capital/construction planning software.
• Some knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe, Autodesk Revit, or related software.
Experience coordinating with governmental agencies and permitting-related stakeholders such as Building Department, DERM, WASA, FPL, and other federal agencies.
