Job Description

The Senior Medical Economic Analyst supports managed care operations by analyzing reimbursement methodologies, modeling financial impacts, and preparing data for contract negotiations. The role focuses on evaluating hospital and professional reimbursement, interpreting commercial payor contract terms, and forecasting future rate performance. The analyst pulls and analyzes historical claims and utilization data, builds rate structures, and supports multi state managed care teams with accurate financial modeling. The position translates complex financial and contractual information into clear insights that guide executive decision making and strategic negotiation planning.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Have:
4+ years in managed care analytics within a provider or hospital environment.
Strong experience with commercial insurance payors including BCBS, UHC, Cigna, and Aetna.
Hands on experience supporting managed care contract analysis and provider side reimbursement analytics.
Strong forecasting and trend analysis skills including financial modeling and risk forecasting.
Experience with hospital reimbursement modeling.
Advanced Excel skills including formulas, VLOOKUPs, IF statements, macros, and data modeling.
Ability to work with one to two years of historical data and build financial scenarios.
Bachelor’s degree

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses
Experience working with multi state contracts.
Familiarity with EPIC
Epic Hospital Billing (HB) certification.
