Location: Lake Wales / Avon Park, FL
Duration: 12-month contract-to-hire
Work Type: Field-based (company vehicle provided)
Insight Global is seeking a Field Technician to support a client in the power distribution and renewable energy space. This individual will be responsible for performing solar interconnection and field inspections, collecting site data, and supporting engineering teams by ensuring installations align with project designs and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites to perform solar panel and meter inspections
- Conduct visual inspections of power distribution and communication equipment
- Collect field data, including photos, notes, and measurements
- Verify installations align with engineering plans and drawings
- Identify and document discrepancies or safety concerns
- Submit documentation and reports via internal systems (e.g., DocuSign)
- Work independently in the field after initial training
- Coordinate with engineering and project teams as needed

Required Skills & Experience
- 6 months – 1+ years of field-based work experience
- Basic understanding of safety standards in the field
- Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, or schematics
- Exposure to power distribution or telecom/communication equipment
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with Spectrum or telecom providers
- Knowledge of joint-use (utility + communication lines)
- Previous experience in solar, utilities, or inspections
