Job Description
A client of Insight Global is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer. This Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for supporting and modernizing a Microsoft-based technology environment, working across both legacy and modern applications while helping deliver solutions that support critical business operations. The role involves designing, developing, testing, deploying, documenting, and maintaining software applications, system integrations, database solutions, and data integration processes, as well as supporting and troubleshooting applications and integrations in a production environment. The engineer will partner closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and participate in technical design and architecture discussions. In addition to modernizing existing applications and implementing development best practices, this individual will play a key role in the organization's growing AI initiatives by leveraging tools such as GitHub Copilot and other AI technologies to improve development efficiency, support the delivery of AI-driven products, and provide technical oversight on AI-related projects. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across the full software development lifecycle, thrives in a fast-paced and less structured environment, can operate independently with minimal direction, and is able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Compensation for this role will be a range of $65-80/hr.

Required Skills & Experience
• Strong C# and .NET development experience
• Advanced SQL experience
• Experience building and supporting system integrations
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to interact directly with business partners and internal customers
• Experience working across the full SDLC including development, deployment, documentation, and QA
• Ability to work independently with minimal handholding in a smaller, less structured IT environment
• Experience leveraging AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and similar technologies to improve development efficiency
• Hands-on experience supporting production environments, including troubleshooting complex application, data, and integration issues and performing root cause analysis
• Experience gathering and translating business requirements into technical specifications, user stories, and solution designs
