Job Description
A large university hospital is rebuilding their security team. They are looking for a Security Engineer who has broad skills and is able to tackle security operations (incident response, vulnerability scans), security engineering (proactive security design & build - including tooling, automation, and architecture) and compliance (knowing NIST and HIPPA, implementing new controls, SOPS)
The ideal candidate will come from a Systems Engineering or Network Engineering background and have moved into Security Engineering. Most of the current security is on prem but moving to cloud.
The ideal candidate will have a broad technical background that has worn many different hats within system, networks and security. They will work on a small team and help build out the security posture as well has handle general security operations and compliance.

Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves:
Strong Systems or Networking background that has moved into Security
7+ years in Cyber Security
Security Operations and IR experience
Security engineering - creating and managing the security posture and customizing security apps (it Nessus, Splunk, CrowdStrike) to align with their security needs
GRC knowledge- mainly with NIST and HIPPA and the Ability to assist with audits and mediate risks with controls and SOP
