Job Description

Overview: Insight Global is seeking a Network Manager to lead and support hospital network operations while remaining highly hands‑on with Layer 1–3 infrastructure. This role is ideal for a senior network engineer ready to step into management, or a current team lead looking for a clear path into infrastructure leadership.

The Network Manager will oversee a small team of strong but developing engineers, acting as both technical authority and mentor, particularly as the organization moves through network upgrades and refresh initiatives that will be new territory for the team. This is a great stepping‑stone role for a Level 3 engineer or NOC team lead ready to move into management.

Responsibilities:
• Provide Level 3 network support across Layer 1 (physical), Layer 2 (switching), and Layer 3 (routing)
• Act as the technical escalation point for complex network outages and performance issues
• Design, configure, install, and maintain hospital network infrastructure:
• Routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, VoIP
• Remain hands‑on with configuration, troubleshooting, and network changes
• Lead network upgrades, refreshes, and modernization initiatives
• Establish and maintain network security standards (firewalls, VPNs, access controls)
• Monitor network performance, utilization, and stability; recommend improvements
• Oversee change management, documentation, and network diagrams
• Collaborate with systems, server, and application teams on cross‑domain issues
• Supervise, train, and mentor network engineers
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and knowledge transfer to mature team capabilities
• Support 24/7 hospital operations and respond during critical incidents

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
• 6+ years hands‑on network engineering experience
○ Healthcare or higher‑ed environment strongly preferred
• 1–3+ years in a senior, lead, or supervisory role
• Strong hands‑on experience with Cisco enterprise infrastructure
○ Catalyst 9000 series (non‑negotiable)
• Deep knowledge of:
○ LAN/WAN, wired & wireless networks
○ Routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs
• Strong troubleshooting and outage-response experience
Comfortable acting as both people manager and technical authority

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred Certifications:
CCNA or CCNP
