Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Lead Communications Systems Engineer to oversee the deployment, maintenance, and operational support of mission-critical communications systems. This role will provide technical leadership for communications infrastructure supporting daily operations and high-profile events while coordinating technicians, deployments, equipment readiness, and troubleshooting efforts.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in LMR and P25 systems, thrives in fast-moving and occasionally chaotic environments, and can quickly assess technical issues to develop practical solutions. This individual will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for ensuring communications systems remain operational, reliable, and mission-ready.

Responsibilities:
• Lead deployment and support of communications infrastructure and equipment
• Oversee troubleshooting and resolution of complex communications issues
• Coordinate communications support for operational events and field activities
• Provide technical guidance to technicians and operational stakeholders
• Support P25 radio systems, interoperability efforts, and communications planning
• Manage equipment readiness, inventory, and deployment planning
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
• Assist with infrastructure modernization and communications system improvements

Compensation:
$60hr to $72hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years supporting telecommunications, communications infrastructure, or LMR systems
• Experience leading communications deployments, installations, or operational support efforts
• Experience supporting P25 communications environments
• Experience managing communications infrastructure, radio systems, and network-connected devices
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
• Experience coordinating multiple projects, deployments, or technical teams
• Experience working in fast-moving operational environments
• Ability to make technical decisions with limited information and changing requirements
• Eligibility to obtain DHS Public Trust clearance and pass financial/criminal background checks.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with Motorola ASTRO 25 infrastructure
• Experience supporting P25 trunked and conventional systems
• Experience with radio provisioning, interoperability testing, alignment, and system troubleshooting
• Experience with Cisco networking equipment
• Experience supporting emergency response, federal government, public safety or defense missions
• Experience with RF, UHF/VHF, satellite communications, or telecommunications infrastructure
• Experience developing SOPs, documentation, or technical training
• Project coordination or technical leadership experience
• Active DHS Public Trust, Secret Clearance, or prior federal clearance.
