Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Installation Technician to support a rail modernization initiative focused on upgrading passenger Wi-Fi systems across multiple train platforms. This role will work onsite at an AMTRAK maintenance facility, performing hands-on installation of low-voltage cabling, onboard equipment, and connectivity systems.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work and wants exposure to large-scale transportation infrastructure projects.

Day to Day:
• Install and upgrade passenger Wi-Fi systems on multiple train platforms (Acela, AM Fleet, Arrow sets)
• Pull, route, and terminate low-voltage cabling across train cars
• Connect M12 threaded connectors and onboard communication systems
• Install and mount onboard equipment (small computers, hardware components)
• Perform daily safety briefings and follow rail compliance standards
• Read basic plans and support ongoing AMTRAK project schedules and installs
Travel occasionally (~5%) to nearby sites (Delaware area)


Compensation: $25/hr. to $28/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Required Skills & Experience

• 2–3+ years of hands-on installation experience (low voltage / cabling / hardware)
• Experience pulling cable and terminating connections
• Comfortable using hand tools for mounting, installing, and assembly
• Experience working with low-voltage systems (IT, telecom, Wi-Fi, or similar)
• Ability to pass background and security screening (rail compliance required)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience installing systems in transportation, rail, or industrial environments
• Familiarity with M12 connectors or similar industrial connections
• Experience using multimeters (reading DC voltage / troubleshooting circuits)
• Experience drilling into steel or working with heavy-duty materials
• OSHA 30 certification (can be obtained on contract)
• Rail certifications (Red/Blue Flag – can be obtained on contract)
