Job Description
The engineer is responsible for the daily design, testing, and implementation of endpoint and network security controls, ensuring all systems remain compliant with NIST framework. Each day involves supporting and maintaining government furnished security tools and infrastructure, performing routine updates and system refreshes, and preparing monthly status reports. The role includes engineering and deploying security solutions that protect networks and endpoints from unauthorized devices, malicious code, and policy violations, while applying federal security mandates. The engineer conducts ongoing reviews of network configurations, firewall rules, and endpoint protection settings, offering recommendations to strengthen the organization’s security posture. They also ensure the proper handling and protection of PII in accordance with compliance and manage real time or near real time log forwarding to SIEM platforms to support audit readiness and continuous monitoring
Compensation:
$45/hr to $50/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
• Associates with 10 years of experience OR Bachelors and 8 years of experience OR Masters with 6 years of experience
• Must have experience with incident and event management
• Must have experience with reporting – c eating and updating SOPs
• Must be familiar with Microsoft Defender
• Incident reporting and triaging
• Knowledge of Splunk – receiving and responding to alerts
• Creating queries is a plus
• Must have knowledge of Intune – read only
• Familiarity with Service Now for ticketing
• Familiarity with NIST Framework
• Federal experience is a must
